The Freedom Trail is a 2.5 mile red-brick walking trail that leads you to 16 nationally significant historic sites and the events that led up to the historic break from Britain and the brave people who shaped our national government.

Boston Latin School founded on April 13, 1635 is America’s oldest public school. On School Street a mosaic and a statue of noted alumnus Benjamin Franklin marks the location of the original Boston Latin schoolhouse, which was completed in 1645.

Old Corner Bookstore was opened in 1828; the building was restored in 1960.

Old South Meeting House built in 1729 as a Puritan meeting house was the stage for some of the most dramatic events leading up to the American Revolution including the Boston Tea Party.

The Old North Church is the oldest standing church building in Boston, having first opened its doors to worshippers on December 29, 1723. Its 191 foot steeple is the tallest in Boston.
